location: Quadra Island, BC
Objectives:
To design a small, simple, modern Gulf Island charactor cabin.
Results:
The new house features a T-shaped plan with bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry room, mechanical room, storage and a loft office at right angles to the great room wing. Featuring an open plan kitchen/living/dining room and vaulted ceiling, the great room wing opens north to the garden courtyard shared with the existing cabin and south to a large deck facing the ocean.
