location: north vancouver, bc
Objectives:
As with many owners of spec built homes, our clients for this project wanted improve the “curb appeal” of their 80’s home and to update the interiors to better suit the requirements of their very active family.
Results:
The exterior appearance of the home has been uplifted by replacing the outdated “hip” roof forms with new “gable” roofs and expanding the small front entrance to create a new “sitting porch”. New exterior windows, doors, garage doors, cedar shingles, stone detailing and paint colours have transformed this hum drum home into an attractive, welcoming home in the neighbourhood.
Inside, the existing Kitchen, Family Room, Dining Room and Living Room have been re-configured and opened up to create a more dynamic space for the family to gather together to cook, dine, watch sports, do homework and entertain friends. A main floor office has been converted into a new purpose built and outfitted storage mud room for sports gear. The owner’s “modern country” style and love of colour is reflected in the “fun” interior finishes.
